ForksnFingers (“we”, “us”, “our”) is an AI-powered food recommendation app that helps you decide between cooking at home and ordering food. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal data when you use our app.

We collect the following types of data:

  • Account data: email address, name, and city
  • Preferences: food preferences, dietary restrictions, cultural cuisine preferences, and allergies
  • Usage data: how you interact with the app, features used, and session information
  • Device data: device type, operating system, and push notification token
  • Payment data: subscription status (payment card details are handled exclusively by Stripe and are never stored on our servers)

  • Supabase: secure database and authentication infrastructure
  • Stripe: payment processing for Premium subscriptions
  • OpenAI / AI providers: to generate meal recommendations (anonymised queries only)

All third parties are contractually obligated to protect your data.

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. When you request account deletion, your data is permanently deleted within 30 days. Some data may be retained longer where required by law (e.g. financial records).

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Rectify inaccurate data
  • Erase your data (“right to be forgotten”)
  • Restrict processing in certain circumstances
  • Data portability — receive your data in a portable format

  • Withdraw consent at any time without affecting prior processing

We use industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS), row-level security on our database, and secure token-based authentication. We regularly review our security practices.

  1. CHILDREN’S PRIVACY

ForksnFingers is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with data, please contact us to have it removed.

  1. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via the app or email. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
